Caterers from across the length and breadth of Scotland will today, 1 March 2017, be rewarded for ensuring that at least 50% of their menu contains healthier options by the healthyliving award (HLA), part of NHS Health Scotland.
Today’s 10th annual award ceremony hosted by NHS Health Scotland and chaired by Fergus Chambers, Chairman of Braehead Foods and former Managing Director of Cordia LLP, will celebrate the success of 146 of these businesses.

The healthyliving award (HLA) will today reward caterers, from across the length and breadth of Scotland, for making it easier to eat healthily when eating out.
There are over 730 award holders in the country serving over 227,000 customers daily. Today’s ceremony hosted by broadcaster Stephen Jardine will celebrate the success of 185 of these businesses. Of these businesses 125 are first time award achievers, while 15 are being celebrated for renewing their award for their 4th time. The other 45 businesses are being rewarded for moving onto the higher level of award the healthyliving award plus.
Subway branches have achieved healthyliving awards in 55 (31%) of their Scottish stores and are well on their way to achieving 100% accreditation.
Award-winning stores can be found across Scotland, making the healthy choice easy and affordable.
The commitment to achieve the healthyliving award is part of Subway’s wider commitment to the Scottish Government’s Supporting Heathy Choices public policy framework.
Wintersgills is the first pub in Scotland to achieve the healthyliving award, shrugging off the stereotypical view that 'typical pub grub' means unhealthy.
SUBWAY have achieved Healthyliving Awards in 26 (17%) of their Scottish stores, smashing their target of 10% of stores by the end of 2014. Many more stores across Scotland are currently working towards accreditation.
