Catering in Scotland Excellence Awards - and the winners are...

Inspire Catering has been recognised as a market leader in providing healthy food by gaining the prestigious Healthier Scotland award.   The award was presented to Inspire Catering Owners, David Pease and Lorna McFarlane, and David Hunt, Group Executive Chef as part of the CIS Excellence Awards held at the Glasgow Hilton on 27 May.

The Healthier Scotland Award invited nominations from all sectors of the industry, including workplace restaurants, further education establishments and high street outlets. This award recognises individuals or organisations which have made an outstanding contribution to supporting and promoting healthier eating, and for making it easier for people to eat healthily.

Evidence was required to show how healthier eating practices have been supported and nurtured within the establishment. This included examples of menus, press cuttings or initiatives aimed at encouraging healthier eating and incorporating a health culture into the operation of the business.

The calibre of the submissions was excellent and it proved a major challenge to decide on the final shortlist of
