Jo Watson is Head Chef and Catering Manager for contract caterers Entier Olive Garden at Robert Gordon’s College, an independent school in Aberdeen. We asked Jo what she thought of the award and the benefits it has brought.

  • Q. What were your main reasons for applying for the healthyliving award?
  • A. One reason was to help children realise that healthy choices can be fun and enjoyable as part of school life.
  • Q. What did you think of the support provided by the healthyliving award team?
  • A. I got great support: they are willing to help at any time, to give advice on various problems and they realise how busy caterers are.
  • Q. What have been the main benefits of achieving the healthyliving award?
  • A. The school has been delighted with the award as it is one of the first private schools in Aberdeen to achieve it. It is good advertising for us the caterer, and for the school.
  • Q. Would you recommend the award to other caterers?
  • A. Yes, it’s a good exercise to motivate staff, interest customers and generally increase levels of interest in the food provided.
