Eddie McGinty is a Senior Project Worker at independent charity Flourish House, a clubhouse that enables people with mental health difficulties to gain a sense of well-being. We asked Eddie about his experience of the healthyliving award.

  • Q. What were your main reasons for applying for the healthyliving award?
  • A. We were already running a healthy eating café, and we saw the healthyliving award as a way to generate more interest in the café among our members, and as a good way of team-building within the unit.
  • Q. Do you feel that working towards and achieving the award has been worthwhile?
  • A. It’s been brilliant. The buzz it has created throughout the whole of Flourish House has been great!
  • Q. Would you recommend the healthyliving award to other caterers?
  • A. Definitely. It has brought a lot of people together and created a lot more interest in the café and in healthy eating.
